Prenatal Chiropractic Care
During pregnancy, the body undergoes many changes that can cause discomfort or pain. As your baby grows, as does your bump which changes your centre of gravity.
This can often cause you to overarch your lower back and cause strain on your lumbar spine, muscles and discs which can in turn result in lower back pain throughout your pregnancy.
Due to the overarching of your back, you may notice your head and shoulders start to roll forward to compensate, which can cause extra tension and pain in the neck and between your shoulder blades, sometimes escalating to headaches.
Chiropractic care may help to alleviate these symptoms. We use gentle techniques to adjust the spine and pelvis, which can help alleviate the back pain that up to 50% of women experience during their pregnancy.
Our Chiropractor has attended postgraduate courses on prenatal and paediatric chiropractic and uses pregnancy specific techniques, as well as modified and gentle spinal and pelvic techniques.
We use specific pregnancy pillows in the clinic which allow you to comfortably lie on your front during part of your treatment. All of our pregnant mums find this really relaxing.

Paediatric Chiropractic
Chiropractic care can be effective for all age groups, even babies.
Our chiropractor has completed postgraduate courses in pregnancy and paediatric chiropractic and after a thorough history and examination, will discuss with the parent/guardian any treatment she thinks would be beneficial.
Chiropractic treatment on an infant will look entirely different to what you may be used to as an adult. We use very gentle techniques such as stretching and very slight pressure on the spine and pelvis.
